About Me

K-What?!?: It's strange to think that a year ago I was oblivious to kdramas, the Hallyu Wave, kpop, Hyun Bin, Wookie, and numerous other things about Korean culture. But now I know, and I'm writing a blog about these things. I entered the Hallyu world almost by accident in 2011, and I haven't looked back. I'm fascinated by the cultural phenomenon that is spreading from South Korea, and my worldview has changed because of my love of these things. I mostly watch kdramas, and it's strange, because I find western equivalents completely unwatchable. I hate American soap operas and I find telenovelas to be too campy/crazy for my tastes, but there is something about kdramas, jdoramas, and the occasional twdrama that has me addicted. Sure, there is camp, but it's likeable. There are crazy plot twists and plenty of makjang, but there are some really great stories, too. I typically watch romantic comedies, with some more dramatic romances thrown in, and I love historical pieces. However, my attention span is somewhat short, so I like to watch the dramas with shorter runs. So that's pretty much what my focus will be on this blog. I hope you enjoy it!
